I have wondered whether or not to share the story behind this bright, colorful and lovey dovey engagement session.
I called Sarah and told her that my kiddos had the stomach bug and wanted to make sure they were comfy meeting with me.
They were okay with it and so we were going to meet that evening.
About an hour and a half before the shoot I started feeling BAD. I knew the bug was starting to hit me.
(We had the stomach bug twice in a month and it was NOT fun… it’s super contagious. I think Pierson is the only one who didn’t get it out of the six of us.)
I knew I couldn’t cancel on Sarah because she was getting her hair/mu at that time!
I show up to meet them and I am sweating, frazzled and worried.
The first thing I said to them was, “HI guys! I think I am sick with the stomach bug, I just wanted to tell you so if I am not acting myself and I am so sorry.” – um totally crazy – I am sure I freaked them out right then and there.
Fortunately they are awesome, adorable, super in love and easy!
Throughout the session I was fine and then not fine, it would come in waves, but they were ROCKIN’ and I pushed through.
We had a fun time over off of Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth and then finished off at the new 7th Street Bridge – great choices by Sarah and Donny!
I was so nervous I performed so poorly – being sick and just wanted them to have the BEST photos I could produce.
Sarah and Donny were more important than a stupid illness creeping in.
They were so sweet to put up with moments of silence, worry, sweating and pausing.
We said our goodbyes – a distance away – as I was not getting close to them!
The drive home felt like forever (5-10min) and I got stuck behind a car going 20mph for half of my drive home to my house – I wanted to honk at them so badly, but patience is a virtue right?
I finally get home and that is when the stomach virus took charge… I had my head in the toilet quite a bit that next 24 hours.
Sweet Sarah and Donny sent me a precious thank you card and I was so concerned about them getting sick, fortunately they were great!
The best part was I ADORE their images. I am so grateful to have such wonderful clients – who trust me even in bad times.
S+D…
I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to work through the session slowly and for understanding.
You guys were troopers and truly beautiful.
I cannot wait to document your beautiful wedding day.
.love.
